The tragic shooting and death of Ma’Khia Bryant earlier this week in Columbus, Ohio, requires a full and complete investigation into the law enforcement response that night and the underlying foster care provided by the family. This tragedy could and should have been prevented and we, at CCAI, will continue our advocacy work here on Capitol Hill with our strategic partners across the country and world to fight for best practices in family support and stabilization and nurturing family based care for vulnerable children.
